My story —
I'm Keleisha Carter — and I did it the long way around.
I left Jamaica with a suitcase and a plan. My first job in the U.S. was bussing tables and managing restaurants on Martha's Vineyard. Not glamorous. But real.
I found real estate while working those long shifts — started investing out of state while still clocking hours in the industry. Then I went all in: quit my job, went full-time, and got into fix-and-flips. And then financing fell through at the closing table. No bank. No backup.
So I called the people who already trusted me. That one conversation became my first private loan. That loan became Legacy Bloom Capital. And learning how to have those conversations is exactly what I teach now.
